Why see Pinocchio?

THe classic tale reimagined

A magical adventure awaits! Pinocchio, a wooden puppet with dreams of becoming a real boy, comes to life in this spectacular stage adaptation of Carlo Collodi's timeless tale. From Pinocchio's creation at the hands of the kind-hearted Geppetto to his mischievous adventures in the heart of Pleasure Island, Greg Banks's adaptation, along with direction by Rebecca Wright, breathes new life into a beloved age-old story and offers a glimpse into the extraordinary world of one small (but ever-so-sturdy) puppet.

Pinocchio is so popular that it has been adapted for the stage over a dozen times, was reimagined by Disney, and is the subject of storybooks worldwide. While the fairy tale classic is known for emphasizing the significance of truth and the repercussions of dishonesty, the 2024 stage adaptation offers a new take on its timely themes, without missing a single beat of the action.

What is the story?

Carved from a piece of animated wood by a toy maker named Geppetto, who yearns for a son, a puppet named Pinocchio magically comes to life following a falling star and a heartfelt wish. However, Pinocchio is not the best-behaved of young puppets (his nose will certainly attest to that). The troublesome marionette, along with his opinionated conscience, Jiminy Cricket, embarks on a fantastical journey to discover his true self and to become what he has always wished to be - a real human boy.
