I saw Ellen at the classic Chicago Theater on Saturday August 10. She was warm, funny, and above all honest and kind. I hadn’t realized how much pain those tabloids caused her. I was glad she shared her feelings with us in a poignant, honest and humorous manner. Loved the no cell phone idea. I hope she knows how loved she is and goes on to live a peaceful life with Portia. I loved that she brought her on stage at the end of her performance. 💕
Farewell My Friend
With the exception of my mother, Ellen is one of the most influential women in my life. She showed me that decency, kindness and caring is what we all need to strive for. Her show got me through some tough times. I could escape my problems for an hour and enjoy the show. So on Monday night in Boston was a kind of farewell for me. I don’t think I’ll get to see her again. But the show was fantastic. It seemed very personal for Ellen, explaining her life and ours. The audience showed Ellen a lot of love and seemed genuinely touched by it. Thank you Ellen for your support.
Ellen, only read the positive posts!
It was our 21st anniversary as we watched Ellen tonight. If it wasn’t for Ellen I probably would not have come out (which I did because I realized I was gay as I watched her “I’m gay†sitcom with tears rolling down my face. So my wife and I have a special place in our hearts. Not to mention we named our ducklings (chickens with shoehorn lips) Ellen, Oprah and Reese. Ellen turned into Allen once we realized at 6 months he was a boy. But I digress (yes, I too am old, have ADD, am rushing home to check on the aging mom who lives with us, the dogs and ducks. Anyway, back to Ellen… she is good for the soul, part nostalgia part good ol’ fashioned funny as hell. I am so happy she has survived the haters that tried to ruin her career twice. She continues to give us laughter and love after all these years.

I didn’t pay or travel to see her, but With all of the negativity going on in this time, I found her performance, fun and uplifting.
First time in Seattle, First time seeing Ellen
We made our first trip to Seattle from Caney, KS (right on the Oklahoma/Kansas state line) just for the show and we had so much fun!! The only disappointment was that the show had to come to an end! We were completely prepared for the security, etc. as we received very detailed emails prior to the show. It was actually funny watching everyone pre-show having to talk face-to-face! I am in a wheelchair and the staff was very accommodating and helpful. My wheelchair somehow got wedged in our rental car, and the kind gentleman working in the parking garage helped us (thank you, again!!!) The venue is beautiful; located right in the heart of Seattle. We had third row seats, but it appeared that every seat in the place would provide a good view. Although Ellen had a 15 year hiatus, she picked right up where she left off. We felt fortunate to be a part of her come-back tour and hope that she continues to do more! Thanks for a great time, Seattle and hopefully the smoke clears soon!
Had a Blast!!!
My 3 daughters and myself were fortunate to be able to get tickets to see An Evening With Ellen DeGeneres on Thursday evening. We laughed so much we'r had tears coming down our eyes! So glad they didn't allow cell phones! Was nice not to have arms raised up in front of you holding phones and recording! We could actually see Ellen and enjoy the show!! Totally worth seeing!!
