Stereolab are a truly innovative band that never fail to surprise in their live shows. Unusual, quirky art pop through to Velvet’s influenced sonic driving beauty feature brilliantly presented. I would have given this 4 stars except the Commodore yet again plays everything band so loud these days that the nuances of Stereolab were often completely lost. Often at the Commodore these days I have say it’s often difficult to trace the bass notes. Some loud rumble is all you often seem to hear. Saw Psychedelic Furs and Peter Hook recently. Both had similar problems with the sound. A shout out to support Vancouver’s Apollo Ghost who were charming and good fun. Would see them again. Had a good night and met some nice people. Hope to very much see Stereolab again in the future.
