I’m sorry to say I did not enjoy this live performance by the Night Vale cast. The writing was truly uninspired and lackluster, shooting for the low-hanging fruit and never trusting the audience to get the joke on their own. The main cast thinks itself too precious, mincing and grimacing and pulling faces instead of acting and stumbling while reading scripts in their hands. For $35 per seat, $30 per t-shirt and $8 per drink, I would have appreciated them knowing the lines. The musical guest (“The Weather”, as it were), Mal Blum suffered from terrible sound mixing, with deep, grungy guitar sound and toneless vocals.
