5 ⭐️:Steve Miller and Def Leppard: 0=Journey

Steve Miller and Def Leppard: spectacular: great sound, great interactions with audience.great musical show voice and instrumentally wonderful. Journey: huge disappointment. Everything was turned up to a loudest of loud, too many guitar solos no one wanted to hear. Band and equalizers up so loud it was extremely difficult to even understand the screaming *new lead singer Arnel Pineda. He had a punky awful, trying to hard to be popular stage presence that didn’t work at all. We heard great things about him and it was just awful. I don’t know if he was having an off night, as we had never heard him before, but bring Steve Perry back! Totally understand why Steve wouldn’t want to be around the self indulgent over playing of the guitar solos…annoying. Just sing the songs! And it was embarassingly awful. We left after a few songs because we were afraid our ear drums were going to be damaged between the loud volume of everything on stage and the atrocious singing, I mean yelling . ... Read more

Steve Miller and Def Leppard =awesome,;Journey: AWFUL

July 23, 2024: Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia: Super excited to see Steve Miller, Journey and Def Leppard…. Steve miller started promptly at 6, sounded great, musicianship was spot on, really enjoyed his show. Next up Journey. SUPER LOUD, all volumes equalizers up on high, super annoying loud, drown out your singer loud… could barely understand journeys *newish singer that we had heard really great things about. Volume never equalized where you could hear the singer, so of course he needs to scream the lyrics to even barely be heard. Then he kept referring to the concert goers as Phillies .umm no, no baseball today…ughh we walked out after about 4/5 songs. Too loud with ear plugs couldn’t understand the singer at all, his stage presence was like an annoying drugged out punk. Over done. UGHHHH. I’m sorry I spent good money on a journey tshirt. I want my money back. Maybe will use for kindling for a fire… DEF LEPPARD= awesome! Journey stunk like a nasty poop filled baby diaper. ... Read more

Def Leppard sounded great; Journey a disapointment

I agree with the prior reviews on Journey's sound. Neal Schon had a ton of special effects pedals but no matter what he did it was just a wall of distortion. Even on the mellower Journey songs Neal used an inappropriate amount of distortion which masked the melody. Plus, he felt the need to do a major solo on every single song. It was just too much. When Def Leppard came on there was a noticeable change in the crowd's demeanor. People were up on their feet, clapping and dancing. The band was spot on and their sound was much better balanced. Joe Elliot still sounds amazingly well (although he looks terrible!). Both bands have a ton of great hits, bot only Def Leppard was able to tap into the crowds enthusiasm ... Read more
