The Philly Orchestra returns with the third instalment of the cartoon music series
Turning back time to an era where Saturday mornings meant your favorite cereal and cartoons, the world renowned Philly Orchestra and special guest conductor George Daugherty return with Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II, a sonic celebration of iconic Looney Toons characters and the music that punctuated every comic caper! Back by popular demand, the concert conjures childhood delight and wonder of previous shows in the series Bugs Bunny On Broadway and Bugs Bunny At The Symphony.
The extraordinarily vibrant and intricate scores of Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, Wile E. Coyote, Daffy Duck, Tweety and Sylvester amongst others ramp up the comedy and fill each frame with emotion and scene-setting nuance. The man behind this music was Carl W. Stalling, a little-known composer whose advanced techniques created a whole new genre for animated cartoons. Using tempo shifts, mixed genres, sound effects and speedy tranisitions, Stalling was seamlessly able to aurally describe the high energy events on screen.
