The singer-songwriter and guitarist formerly of the band Traffic will be concentrating on his time as part of the collective, when he takes to the road this summer for no less than 30 dates, hitting the in , , . As one of the founding members, he performed on their first two albums, 1967's 'Mr. Fantasy' and their self-titled record the next year. After leaving Traffic, he succeeded in carving out a career as both a solo artist, with hits such as 'We Just Disagree' and 'Only You Know and I Know,' and as a sideman for other acts. In short, this is one rocker who refuses to keep still.
In his long career, Mason has recorded with various artists such as the late great Jimi Hendrix, as well as The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and George Harrison. His best-known solo song is 'Feelin' Alright', which was recorded by Traffic in 1968 and has been covered by the likes of Joe Cocker in the intervening years.
Earlier this year Mason spoke about the upcoming tour. "I think that it is important to keep alive the legacy of four young men from the heartland of England and their contribution to contemporary music. And 'Traffic Jam' aside from the obvious material will hopefully grow into the basis for other artists to participate. Keep the spirit alive!'
